“Being born into abject poverty is a hopeless feeling for a child, especially as one of five children raised by a loving, single mother in Ghana. My mother cultivated our food, as most in Ghana try to do, but it was the generosity of neighbors that helped keep food in our dishes. Each meal was a miracle. A miracle by those who had just a little more than our family did, and who shared with love and understanding.
“I was able to attend public school until 10th grade, but without financial means to continue my education – like many boys with so much potential - at 16 I went to the Capital, Accra, to get a job. My faith in a better life led me to leave my country for citizenship in the U.S., knowing that my ties to Ghana would lead me to give back to those in need, those who deserve a complete education, mothers who deserve to raise healthy children who can live to achieve their full potentials.
“It is with this mission in mind that I ask and pray for the support of those who are able to help our cause.”
The Reverend Stephen Kwakye

thy brother, to thy poor and to thy needy in the land.”
